This is a professional, non-degree certificate focused on applied competencies. The curriculum is aligned with WHO Digital Health Workforce and IMIA Health Informatics Education frameworks.
4. How is the program delivered?
The program uses a hybrid format:
- Asynchronous coursework delivered via Moodle
- Monthly synchronous sessions, guest lectures, and Q&A

Yes. Tuition for the inaugural cohort is fully sponsored as part of the pilot phase. Sponsored tuition does not reduce academic rigor, expectations, or graduation requirements. Future cohorts are expected to be tuition-based.
8. How competitive is admission?
Admission is selective and competitive. Applicants are evaluated based on professional background, readiness for informatics training, motivation, and alignment with program goals. Meeting minimum criteria does not guarantee admission.
9. Who teaches the courses?
Courses are taught by experienced informatics, clinical, research, and digital health professionals from MSKCC and partner institutions, many of whom are contributing on a pro bono basis for the inaugural cohort.
10. What is the capstone project?
Each participant must complete a capstone project that applies informatics principles to a real-world problem (e.g., EHR optimization, data quality, surveillance, workflow improvement, or research data management).

Participants who successfully complete all requirements will receive a Certificate in Applied Health Informatics issued under the program’s governance structure, with institutional partners acknowledged as applicable.
