While it was a difficult decision to cancel our annual Symposium, we know it was the right decision. In light of this global pandemic and the challenges many countries and communities are facing we want to say first, we hope that you and your families are all healthy and safe. We know that some of you will undoubtedly be called to the front lines of this pandemic if things escalate in Nigeria. We hope that will not be the case.
At this moment we do not know how long we will all be dealing with COVID- 19. We are currently looking at different scenarios to ensure that we are able to facilitate ongoing training and support for studies underway and the ARGO consortium. Currently, we are evaluating transitioning our April sessions to virtual delivery via Zoom. We will be testing this out and keeping you informed of progress on this endeavor. As we monitor the pandemic over the next weeks and months we will be evaluating and planning on how best to support our ongoing work for the remainder of 2020. We will keep you informed.
On a brighter note we are happy to share with you that ARGO and the GCDI at MSK held a strategic planning meeting in New York in February and renewed our commitment to continue to build the ARGO infrastructure and expand clinical research and training capacity in Nigeria.
Sincerely,
Peter and Isaac
